There New star celebrates its 20th anniversary. For the occasion, our colleagues from TV Star had the chance to interview the famous drummer and former member of the show’s jury, Manu Katché. Between the giggles, the saucepans and other disputes, the musician remembered the worst and the best memories that he keeps from the flagship program of M6. At the time, the latter remembers in particular having violently torn apart with Dove Attia in the heart of the auditions.
“There were disputes. Dove reflected on an artist, a young candidate, saying to André and me ‘Yeah, jazzmen, you don’t have the infused science’ well I don’t know what anymore… So we said to himself, ‘It got on my nerves, it’s fine, it’s good, when butchers make music’ well, it’s useless. It went into a spin and it was quite intense because it left sulking for 2 hours. We couldn’t find him so everyone stopped, everyone was waiting to resume the castings. It was complicated”he said.
