When Daniel Levi breathed his last on August 6, 2022, suffering from colorectal cancer since 2019, he left the whole of France with his unforgettable repertoire of songs, including The desire to lovetitle of the musical The ten Commandments. For the first time in an interview, his widow Sandrine Levi speaks in Le Parisien/Today in France on the disappearance of her soul mate, she who organizes a show in her homage. With an open heart, she shares her pain at having lost the man of her life, with whom she had just had a child.
In The ParisianSandrine Levi recounts her daily life without Daniel: “We move forward, despite the absence of my husband, the lack of his presence. We move forward for the best. He helps me a lot from where he is, because he is there all the time. I always talk about him in the present tense, I always think of him in the present tense. I live very painful moments… They say that with time, the pain subsides. Me, I feel like it’s getting worse and worse, because the lack sets in. We become aware of the reality a little more each day.“
Daniel Lévi is the father of four children: Abel, from a first union, Rephaël and Rivka whom he had with his ex-wife Laure and a daughter born on July 15, 2022 from his marriage to Sandrine. She revealed the first name and its very symbolic meaning last September: “I would have liked so much that my husband was there and revealed to you the first name of our daughter… ‘NESSYEL’ (Miracle of Hashem).”
Sandrine Levi considers the interpreter of This blue dream like that “half” in his interview for the daily:We were fusion. We started working together, then he moved with me to Marseille to record an album. That’s how it all started. Step by step, we have traveled our path, the one that has made us inseparable, inseparable and above all infallible. It was from that day that I was able to write my most beautiful story of friendship, complicity and love.…”
A show “without tralala”
His interview with the daily newspaper allows the singer’s wife to talk about the great tribute evening she is organizing on November 7 in Mogador with Patrick Bruel, Pascal Obispo and part of the cast of the legendary musical. “I received a phone call from my friend Albert Cohen (co-producer of the ‘Ten Commandments’ at the time) who said to me: You will have to take your courage in both hands and make this evening a tribute to Daniel now because otherwise it will come out of nowhere. Or it will be organized anyhow and with anyone‘” his wife said.
She therefore took matters into her own hands for an authentic show during which Pascal Obispo, who had composed the song, will perform The desire to love : “We don’t want TV, no hoopla, but only artists who have shared sincere moments with Daniel. It will be an evening of benevolence, solidarity and love, in his image.“Julie Zenatti, Amir, Patrick Fiori and the Original Troupe of Ten Commandments Will be present.
