The idea that Aya Nakamura could sing at the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games “is an additional provocation from Emmanuel Macron who has to get up every morning wondering how to humiliate the French people”ping Wednesday March 20 on France Inter Marine Le Pen, president of the RN group in the National Assembly.

The most listened to French-speaking singer in the world has been the target of the far right since the weekly The Express assured that she discussed with Emmanuel Macron her possible participation in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Neither the star nor the Élysée have confirmed this information at this stage. The fact remains that since this rumor, Aya Nakamura has been the subject of multiple racist comments. Marine Le Pen judges this “ashamed”but does not qualify these attacks as racist.

A choice that must unite the French

The former presidential candidate considers that “the question is not to call into question one’s nationality, but the image that we want to give of our country.” Marine Le Pen thus criticizes the “attire and vulgarity” by Aya Nakamura. “She doesn’t speak French, but she doesn’t speak French either (…) It’s not crossbreeding, it’s nonsense”says the member for Pas-de-Calais.

Marine Le Pen does not give names of artists she would like to see sing during the opening ceremony of the Games, but she believes that Aya Nakamura “is not the only artist to sell hugely around the world.” “It’s something that must bring together, unite the French” and there “Emmanuel Macron’s desire was once again to divide, that’s what he does best”she castigates.
