“It’s a bit of a treasure hunt”enthuses Fabrice, a regular at Emmaüs for 25 years. “I am an inveterate bargain hunter. In a big sale like this, you have to be able to authenticate the object quickly because you are not alone. The sinews of war is knowledge, it is to be able to quickly assess the ‘object !”

It is also to find the rare pearl that Dominique got up early. She traveled from Loir-et-Cher to come to the Esvres-sur-Indre site, “bigger than the one next to my house.” As soon as the doors are open, she rushes into the furniture department to hope to find one. “asian style”… But without success this time. “That’s the game !”

Fabrice on the other hand has found his happiness, “a contemporary statue mounted on bronze in pressed glass. It’s very nice, it’s going to be very pretty in my interior!” For Emmaüs Touraine, this event represents almost a month’s income. “It’s a bit like our thirteenth month”underlines the manager of the Esvres-sur-Indre site, Amaury Tincq.
