After Gabriel Attal’s announcements, Thursday February 1, the FNSEA and the Young Farmers called for an end to the highway blockages. Hervé Lapie, secretary general of the FNSEA, is waiting to see “if the announcements that have been made prove effective”.
“It’s a suspension of movement“, affirms Hervé Lapie, general secretary of the FNSEA. This union announced, following the announcements of Gabriel Attal, Thursday February 1, the lifting of the blockades on French highways. “Now, we will work with the prefects in the departments and we will see after ten days if the announcements that have been made prove effective”he continues.
“Our messages are getting through”
“We have farmers who have been mobilized for almost two and a half months, our messages are getting through.”, explains Hervé Lapie. He believes that the Prime Minister is finally realizing the seriousness of the situation in which farmers find themselves at the moment. “We also have the whole European aspect which poses a huge problem for us”he concludes, specifying that a new lever of action will certainly concern Europe.
