“It’s a shock”: Amel Bent reveals having had a miscarriage

Amel Bent is at the top of sales with her new album Alive, which features several of his hits: Until the end (feat. Imen Es), 1,2,3 (feat. Hatik) or the most recent, The song of the doves. The 36-year-old singer multiplies appearances for the promotion of her opus, she was last night on TF1 for the grand final of The Voice All Stars – won by Anne Sila – to share a duet with the young Manon, 18 years old. It is on this same set that Amel Bent lived a very painful moment a few months ago, the loss of a baby when she was pregnant for the third time.

Invited this Sunday, October 24, 2021 in Seven to Eight (TF1), for the portrait of Audrey Crespo-Mara, the singer confides for the first time on this very personal ordeal. Audrey Crespo-Mara posted an excerpt from their very intimate interview on her Instagram page.

Very quickly, I also start to feel in the days that follow, other sensations that I know less … It starts with cramps in the stomach. I obviously call my doctor right away who tells me it’s a bit normal. At the end of the recording, I will go see him to do the famous first ultrasound. Except that the pain intensifies. I say nothing, I go through the recording days saying to myself: ‘I hope there is nothing serious’ “, remembers Amel Bent. Unfortunately, the news is not good and it is the shock: “Ultimately it’s disillusionment, since when I go to the doctor and the ultrasound is done, he actually tells me that I am losing the baby that I was expecting. It’s a shock because, casually, from the moment we took a pregnancy test and it turns out to be positive, we are pregnant.. We live it deep in his body, in his heart. We share it with the person we live with. We are already imagining a future, things are going very, very quickly! When you are told: ‘You are pregnant but you will not have children’, it is devastating! (…) It is a very particular situation, very painful, both physically and psychologically. “
