A new video showing two hostages was sent by Hamas on Saturday April 27. To talk about it, Jean-David Ichay, co-founder of the October 7 collective, is the guest of 19/20 info.

In a video released on Saturday April 27 by Hamas, two hostages, Keith Siegel, 64, and Omri Miran, 47, speak under duress. The two men explain that they are in danger and ask their loved ones to put pressure on the Israeli government to find an agreement with Hamas. “It’s a relief to know that these hostages are alive”, underlines Jean-David Ichay, co-founder of the October 7 collective. However, according to him, these images are not irrefutable proof of life. “There are a number of elements in the videos which suggest that they are recent”notes Jean-David Ichay.

“The people are in the streets to demand the return of their children”

For specialists, these videos do not allow us to learn more about the conditions of their detention. “These are texts that were recited under duress. What they teach us is that Hamas may need to send messages”he notes, stressing that negotiations are underway between Israel and Hamas. “We hope in any case that the negotiations which are taking place at the moment will allow them to be freed (…) the people are in the streets to demand the return of their children”assures the co-founder of the October 7 collective.
