A remarkable arrival. “It’s a persecution against me, it’s shameful”, declared Donald Trump upon his arrival, Monday April 15, at the New York court. The former American president will be tried there for a case of payments intended to buy the silence of former porn star Stormy Daniels, before the 2016 presidential election. “It is a political persecution, unprecedented, unprecedented, an affair which should never have taken place”continued the billionaire. “This is why I am proud to be here, I am here for my country, a country in decline which is governed by a clique which does not know how to wield power.”

The Republican presidential candidate, aged 77, thus becomes the first ex-president in the history of the United States to be tried criminally in court. If convicted, Donald Trump faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison.
