Alexandre Touzet, LR vice-president of Essonne and mayor of Saint-Yon, reacted, Thursday April 18, to Gabriel Attal’s announcements on violence by minors.

After Gabriel Attal’s speech concerning minors’ violence, Alexandre Touzet, LR vice-president of Essonne and mayor of Saint-Yon, is the guest of franceinfo, Thursday April 18. He says to himself “unconvinced” by the Prime Minister’s announcements. “All these problems are well listed, but we don’t have a very precise answer”, he regrets. For him, the government is doing “a diagnostic error”because the violence “does not concern an ultra-minority of young people”.

“We don’t see the strong measures”

According to him, this phenomenon no longer concerns, as “Ten or fifteen years ago, a few young people in the city’s political estates. It’s a mass phenomenon. We need very strong measures and there, I don’t see them”estimates the vice-president of Essonne. “We don’t see the strong measures that will actually change the situation on the ground”, he elaborates. Alexandre Touzet calls for reflection to be initiated on the criminal liability of minors, but also on the “parental responsibility”.
