‘It’s a dream come true’: He plays guitar with Post Malone in front of 100,000 people

“I’m in shock.” Félix Bergeron was far from having come down from his cloud when The newspaper spoke to him on the night of Friday to Saturday, a few hours after playing guitar with Post Malone in front of 100,000 people on the Plains of Abraham.

“It’s an indescribable feeling. The dream of a lifetime,” confided this 25-year-old from Saint-Apollinaire, who works as a singer-songwriter.

He owes this magical moment to the advice of a friend, a Post Malone fanatic. Last week, he pointed out to him that Post Malone has a habit of inviting a spectator to play guitar on the song Stay and that would surely be the case at the Summer Festival.

“I thought, why not learn it? Which I do in 15 minutes and then all week I practiced.”

“He gave me confidence”

On Friday, Félix Bergeron put into practice the principle that nothing ventured, nothing gained. He made a sign asking his idol to play Stay with him.

“From the first song, he saw my sign. He gave me a thumbs up, but nothing was planned.”

Given back to StayPost Malone brought her on stage. Her heart was pounding.

“I was nervous before boarding, but once on stage, he put me at ease, hugged me. He asked me if I needed a pick-me-up, if I wanted to sit down.”

A beer with Post

Post Malone offered him a beer, which Félix Bergeron drank in one go to the cheers of the crowd. “Drinking a beer with one of my favorite artists, I freaked out.”

Then the star handed him the microphone so he could address the audience. “Make some noise for Post Malone,” shouted Félix Bergeron.

Post Malone then handed him a guitar, his admirer sat down, and the two men played the song, as if they were alone in the world.

He loved his experience.

“I performed in front of 100,000 people with one of the most famous artists in the world. He’s so warm, so open.”

Showcase for his career

After the song was over, the one-night duo took a photo, and Félix Bergeron returned to watch the show in the crowd.

He hopes that this exceptional showcase will open doors for him. “Normally, I play bars in my region, but if it means that my career takes off and I play elsewhere, I’m up for it.”

What is certain is that there will now be a new song in his repertoire from now on, a certain Stay.
