“It’s a crazy battle to get 500 referrals”denounced Monday, February 21 on franceinfo the candidate of the New Anti-Capitalist Party (NPA) Philippe Poutou, while his candidacy has so far gathered only 199 sponsorships less than two weeks before the closing on March 4.
Philippe Poutou, already a candidate in 2012 and 2017, explains that the number of sponsorships for his candidacy is “about the same level as five years ago, at the same time, in the same difficulties, with the same stress, the same doubt.” The NPA candidate speaks of a “undemocratic law” because “it favors parties which have elected members”.
“Small nominations like ours enrich the debate”he adds. “Fortunately there are small candidates like ours because if it were to go around in circles between the big parties, we would really be pissed off”launched Philippe Poutou.
