Sunday September 25, the legislative elections will take place in Italy. The far right and its candidate, Giorgia Meloniare big favorites for this election, as explained by journalist Raphaële Schapiralive from Rome (Italy) : “Giorgia Meloni, 45, born in Rome, from a working-class background: we know her quite badly in Europe, but the Italians know her very well, since she joined the MSI at the age of 15, the Italian social movement, very close to the heirs of Mussolini.

“In 2006, she was elected to parliament. In 2009, she was appointed Minister of Youth by Silvio Berlusconi, so she has been part of the landscape for many years. The sentence that could best sum it up is perhaps this that she repeats at will in her meetings: ‘I am a woman, I am a Christian, I am Italian.’ Religion, family and homeland: this is her credo, with an ultra-conservative, anti-immigration discourse, anti-abortion. (…) She is close to NATO, very critical of Vladimir Putin and the war in Ukraine”, concludes the journalist.
