Northern Italy and Switzerland were severely affected by bad weather. Sunday June 30, the damage was numerous. Two bodies were even found in Switzerland.

The images are impressive. In Noasca, in northern Italy, the usually peaceful waterfall exploded, sweeping away almost everything in its path. Below, the river overflowed and spanned the bridge of the village of 200 inhabitants, now inaccessible. In this region of Piedmont, 100mm of rain fell in 24 hours. Two landslides made access for emergency services still difficult on the morning of Sunday June 30.

A little further north, in the Aosta valley, cars were swept away by the current. Helicopter rotations continue to evacuate residents. “First, this morning very early, we sent technicians and rescuers. And in the opposite direction, we are bringing down stranded residents and tourists. We have more than 200 people to evacuate.“, explains Daniel Tazara, municipal councilor of Aymavilles (Italy). In Switzerland, the consequences of bad weather were even heavier. Two bodies were found lifeless.
