Like every evening, 11 p.m. makes the rounds of the news broadcast by European television channels. It’s Eurozapping on Friday 20 May.

What could be better than a meeting of Council of Europe foreign ministers to advance the Italian project to end the conflict in Ukraine? In Turin (Italy), Luigi Di Maio, Italian Foreign Minister, announced his plan: an international group to initiate negotiations. The Italian initiative comes at a time when the war is bogged down in Ukraine, Friday, May 20.

Germany refuses European debt for Ukraine. In Bonn (Germany), the members of the G7 promise to release nearly 20 billion euros for Ukraine. Germany, on the other hand, does not want to hear of a European loan, as for the Covid-19. Finally, Russian gas is cut in Finland from the morning of Saturday 21 April. Since its application to join NATO, the country has been preparing for it: it has just signed an agreement with the Americans to buy liquefied gas.
