The high mountains are already pointing the tip of their nose at the Tour of Italy. The peloton sets off on Friday, May 12, for a seventh stage which should create the first big gaps in the general classification. A first skimming had been made by the inaugural time trial and the fourth stage, but the first justice of the peace is called the Campo Imperatore, a long extremely irregular ramp (26.5 km at 3.4%, whose 4 last at about 8%) classified in the first category.

Big points are to be taken for the classification of the mountain, which is still dominated by the Frenchman Thibaut Pinot. But we should especially witness the first failures of ambitious leaders in the general classification. Will Andreas Leknessund keep his pink jersey? Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic will they start hostilities? Will the breakaway go to the end? So many questions that will only find an answer at the end of the 218 kilometer race.
