“It will surely be my last World Cup, my last opportunity to achieve this great dream that we all have,” Messi said at a press conference on the eve of Argentina’s first match in the competition against Arabia. Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (11:00 a.m.).

The Paris Saint-Germain striker had already confided in an interview with ESPN on October 6 that the World Cup in Qatar would “surely” be his last.

“It will be my last World Cup. Surely, yes”, he had already affirmed.

“I don’t know if it’s the part where I’m happiest in my career… But I feel very good, yes. This World Cup, I approach it with another age, being more mature. I try to enjoy everything to the fullest, to live it with all the intensity and to enjoy every moment of it,” he explained.
