Remember this number: 36 37! This is the number through which you can make donations throughout the weekend for the Telethon, from December 3 to 5. It helps to find treatments for rare genetic diseases.
After a 2020 edition at a discount, under curfew and almost without any entertainment on the ground because of the health crisis, the time has come for the volunteers and the organizers to schedule events again. “It feels good, we missed it”, rejoices Nathalie Clément, the coordinator of the AFM Telethon in the Indre.
“It will do us good to go back to see the people in the field, she explains, guest of France Bleu Berry this Friday, December 3. We need our organizers. We love them so much. We need them and they need us. It will give us a good breath of fresh air “.
Objective: 200,000 to 250,000 euros in donations in the Indre
Last year, health restrictions have reduced donations. “We really fell in donations because in the Indre, we have around 85% of the activities which are meals, specifies Nathalie Clément. No room was accessible, so no meals “. She is counting on the generosity of the Berries this year. “We hope to exceed 200,000 euros, and even 250,000”, she adds. Last year, half a million euros were collected in Berry, including 190,048 in Indre.
Focus on Éguzon!
To succeed in collecting donations, many events will take place throughout the weekend. And in particular in Éguzon which will be honored at the national level. The town was chosen, along with seven other towns in the country, to form the word Telethon with their initial.
A gigantic “E” will be installed on the lake this Saturday. We will see it in France between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. “There will also be a flashmob, inflatables for children, a climbing wall, water skiing on the lake”, details Nathalie Clément.
“We are really happy that the Indre is represented, she adds. Imagine, eight cities in France, including Éguzon! It is a pride for us to have been able to propose the project to the town hall and to have been selected “.
Many events in the Cher
Many activities are also organized in the Cher. An exhibition of Lego minifigures will, for example, take place in Aubigny-sur-Nère throughout the weekend. In Saint-Amand-Montrond, there will be a hike this Saturday morning. And then in Bourges, the Danjons fire station will open its doors to the public, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
