“It started coming in through the walls and the floor. The water started to rise. And luckily we were there. We were able to remove the water … and all that with the Shop-Vac and mops,” explained Claudia in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.
Nearly 100 millimeters of rain fell in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu on Friday.
“There was so much water that my pool filled up completely. I had to empty it. My land was flooded on the fifth. It was crazy“says Claudia.
Located in an area usually sheltered from flooding, Jean-Pierre was also affected by the heavy rains.
The latter indicates that his home was flooded very quickly.
“In a fairly short time, an hour max, there were already a few inches and after that, when it stopped, we were down to a good twelve inches,” says the resident of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
