The investigation unit of Radio France and Le Monde revealed on Tuesday January 30 that Nestlé and other manufacturers hid from the public that the water they pumped was contaminated and that they used banned purification systems, so that pure water must be sold natural. “It was a shocking announcement, we didn’t expect it”explains to franceinfo Yannick Duffner, CFDT secretary at Nestlé Waters Supply.

The company implemented these water treatments without employees, particularly union representatives, being informed, specifies Yannick Duffner. “We had asked in recent years, through the economic commission, which is the highest body at the union level, for specific details on our drilling”, he points out. According to him, the employees were “deceived” because we “has been giving false information for a number of years.”
