It was a July 7 at the Summer Festival: two legends for the price of one on the Plains

Many stars have performed on the Summer Festival stages over the past four decades, but cheering on two legends on the same night, as was the case on opening night in 2016, was a unique moment.

Sting solo was a monster concert in 2009, but seven years later, his return to the Plains of Abraham was even more memorable. He teamed up that night with none other than Peter Gabriel as part of their joint tour Rock Paper Scissors.

It was cold on July 7, but not cold enough to discourage the admirers of the two great British artists, who flocked to watch an exquisite concert.

Sometimes alone, other times as a duo, Sting and Gabriel have been generous in terms of their successes, even exchanging titles from their respective repertoires. That’s how we heard Sting borrow Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, a title from the progressive era of Genesis. Peter Gabriel did the same by repainting with soulful colors If You Love Somebody Set Them FreeSting’s post-Police song.

In addition, the two stars addressed the crowd in French throughout the concert, a warm attention that made people forget the too low mercury.
