“It is our responsibility to persevere and achieve what the French ask of us”reacted Renaissance MP Stella Dupont on Monday December 11 on franceinfo, after the vote by the National Assembly on the motion for prior rejection of the immigration bill by 270 votes to 265.
“We are in a relative majority, so when the oppositions form an alliance, the texts do not pass, including when the oppositions have totally opposing visions”she regrets, “It’s very damaging to our democracy.”
“The Republicans give me the impression of having lost the North”
The MP points out the absence of “political sense” of the alliance between the Nupes and the RN, who demand opposite things between measures “great firmness” facing immigration, which “the left is opposed” And “conversely, very progressive, ambitious and pragmatic measures” that “the right doesn’t want it”.
In passing, she attacks the position of the Les Républicains group which voted in majority for the motion, “The Republicans give me the impression of having lost the North. They are no longer a governing party, from my point of view”. She concludes: “It is a complicated text to vote on, the design of the text is not simple to obtain a relative majority”.
