“It is not possible to have a new immigration channel arriving by sea” for Laure Lavalette, RN deputy

Asked about the crisis in Lampedusa (Italy) after the disembarkation of thousands of exiles, in order to know if France should take part in welcoming a few hundred people, Laura Lavalette indicates that “The cup is full”.

“We can no longer accommodate additional immigration (…) It is not possible to have a new immigration channel which arrives by sea. We are twisting the arms of States, since NGOs are complicit with the smugglers who bring these people into the Schengen area”, estimates Laure Lavalette, RN deputy for Var.

Problem in the Schengen area?

The mayor of Menton (Alpes-Maritimes) proposes to make a municipal plot available to state services to accommodate around a hundred undocumented immigrants. “If we take the case law of Ocean Viking, there too, there was a closed camp. In five days, none of the 233 migrants were no longer there, as were the 55 children who were there. I was very opposed. Once the children arrived, I worried about their fate”continues Laure Lavalette.

“95% of people who set foot in the Schengen area are never returnedes at the border”, concludes the RN spokesperson.
