This is the first time that such messages have been dropped on southern Lebanon asking residents to leave their region. Denying having validated this action, the Israeli army announced the opening of an investigation.

Israel is talking about an isolated initiative, without official validation. Israeli leaflets were dropped on southern Lebanon on Sunday, September 15, asking residents to evacuate, a first since the start of clashes between Israel and the Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah in early October.
The leaflets were dropped over Wazzani, about 5 km from the border, according to the official Lebanese news agency ANI and the mayor of the commune. “To all residents and residents of the refugee camp areas, Hezbollah is firing from your area. You must immediately leave your homes and head to the north of the Khiam region before 4 p.m., and not return to this area until the end of the war.”we can read there. “Anyone in this area after this time will be considered a terrorist element.”it is added.
Asked by AFP, the Israeli army said that it was a “initiative of Brigade 769 which had not been approved by the Northern Command” and that an investigation had been opened. The leaflets were dropped using a drone over an area from which “rockets have been fired towards northern Israel in recent weeks”the army said.
