“We will increase our efforts to find him, attack him and they [les dirigeants du Hamas] “replacing the head of the political bureau once again” of the organization classified as a terrorist organization by Israel, declared on Wednesday, August 7, the chief of staff of the Israeli army, Herzi Halevi.

Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’ leader in Gaza for seven years, was named Tuesday evening as head of the organization, succeeding Ismail Haniyeh, killed last week in Tehran in an attack blamed on Israel.

Speaking to Air Force fighter pilots, the military officer joked about the change in title of Yahya Sinouar. “This political title will not change the fact that he is a murderer responsible for planning and implementing what happened on October 7, and so this change of title, not only does it not prevent us from looking for him, but it stimulates us”he said.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Tuesday evening that it was necessary “quickly eliminate” Yahya Sinwar. The Israeli army and authorities accuse the new leader of the Palestinian movement of being one of the masterminds of the unprecedented attack by Hamas on October 7 in Israel, which makes him one of the men most wanted by Israel.
