The aftermath of the war in Gaza is unclear, after the unexpected withdrawal of the Israeli army from the town of Khan Younes.
Israeli troop movements which revive the hope of a truce between Israel and Hama. But the IDF’s plan is to redeploy in southern Gaza, as its Defense Minister asserts on social networks. “I arrived at the command to closely follow the departure of the forces from Khan Yunis and the start of their preparation for action in Rafah, the last place where we have not yet operated on the ground.”indicates the minister.
Rafah, next target?
Rafah is one of the last towns not to have suffered raids by the Israeli army. The majority of buildings are still standing. Over the months, nearly 1.5 million Palestinians crowded there. An attack on this locality could cause numerous civilian casualties. But for the government of the Jewish state, it is difficult to turn back.
