Lebanese Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, launched a major attack against Israel on the night of Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 August. The pro-Iranian organisation claims to have targeted military bases with dozens of drones and rockets.
Points of light and pops: the sounds of Hezbollah rockets and Israel’s air defenses. The Lebanese Shiite party attacked on the night of Saturday, August 24 to Sunday, August 25, and the sky lit up. At dawn, a drone crashed on an Israeli highway and another on a chicken farm. The Israelis immediately launched a response. A photographer captured the image of a Hezbollah drone shot down in mid-flight by the IDF’s air defenses. Hundreds of missile launch targets were also destroyed.
Hezbollah, for its part, published a propaganda video showing its forces and missile batteries. The Lebanese Shiite party intended with this attack to avenge the death of one of its commanders, Fouad Chokr, assassinated by the Israelis at the end of July in Beirut. After launching nearly 300 projectiles on Israel, Hezbollah finally published a statement: “Our military operations are over for today”.
