Israel announces “expanding” its land operations, Hamas claims to be “ready” to face them

The escalation of the conflict in the Middle East continues. The Israeli army announced, Friday, October 27 in the evening “extend” its ground operations in the Gaza Strip, while intense bombardments are underway in the Palestinian territory. A senior Palestinian Hamas official said his movement was “ready” to face a possible Israeli ground offensive.

As a prelude to this ground operation announced Friday evening, the Israeli army the previous night carried out a raid with ground troops supported by planes against Hamas, which it accuses of waging war from hospitals and of using population as “human shield”. Hamas immediately denied these statements in a statement.
