Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly confirmed on the social network X on Sunday evening that 84 Canadians had been evacuated from the Gaza Strip.
“I would like to thank all of our staff, including those who work at the Surveillance and Intervention Center, for ensuring their safe passage to Cairo,” said the elected official online.
Earlier, The Canadian Press reported that a group of 135 people with ties to Canada had officially been allowed to leave the besieged territory.
Remember that Canadians and their families authorized to leave the Gaza Strip can stay in Egypt for up to three days, while they plan the rest of their trip.
