Islamic Jihad in turn accepts the terms of the truce

Live from Jerusalem, journalist Lucas de Villepin takes stock of the situation between Israel and Gaza, as a truce is about to be signed. “We have just learned from the Arab and Israeli media that Islamic Jihad in turn accepts the conditions of this truce which is to come into force overnight”, he reports. If the truce takes place, “Israel would have achieved its objectives in three days of confrontations: targeted eliminations in Gaza, arrests in the West Bank. On the Palestinian side, however, the human toll is heavy. It is provisional, 41 dead for the moment, members of the Islamic Jihad, but also civilians and at least six children“, concludes Lucas de Villepin.
