Money for Laura Tarantola and Claire Bové ! The Iséroise and her partner took second place in the lightweight double sculls final in rowing at the Munich European Championships this Sunday. A new silver medal, one year after that of the Tokyo Olympics. Beaten by the English, they still managed to pass the Italians, Olympic champions in title and who had beaten them in series last Thursday. “We are very happy to finish this race in the final and to get back on the podium”, reacts Laura Tarantola.
A good omen for the Worlds
Above all, a medal one month away from the Worlds. This silver medal is therefore “a good omen for the future”, assures Laura Tarantola, “because the European level is really very high so it allows you to take good benchmarks”. And especially to arm themselves to beat the English next September: “They were really solid and impressive, clearly above us today but we will see it as motivation, it will boost us for the next month”.
