Météo France place, this Sunday morning, Isère on orange alert to thunderstorms. There are a risk of lightning along the Rhone valley in particular. Strong thunderstorms, locally accompanied by very heavy rain, will intensify in the morning this Sunday between the Languedoc coast and the Rhône-Alpes region. Lightning is also the cause of the fire in Chartreuse, Voreppe and La Buisse. Other fires, on the heights of Saint-Égrève or even in Vif, have affected the department of Isère since the beginning of August.
The neighboring departments of Drôme and Ardèche are also affected by this alert. In the Diois, lightning is also the cause of a major fire, still in progress this Sunday.
Five other departments are placed on orange alert to storms: Rhône, Ain, Gard, Hérault and Haute-Loire.
