Isabelle Adjani, Gérard Depardieu, André Dussollier, Thierry Lhermitte on display at the Lacoste Festival

Isabelle Adjani in dialogue with Marilyn Monroe, Gérard Depardieu singing Barbara, Thierry Lhermitte in one-on-stage or André Dussollier for readings by great authors: the Lacoste Festival in the Vaucluse, will take place from July 24 to August 6 in the castle of the Marquis de Sade.

On August 6, Gérard Depardieu, accompanied by Gérard Daguerre, pianist of Barbara, will resume the great successes of the singer, a show created at the Bouffes du Nord.

André Dussollier will succeed him on August 7 with readings from Victor Hugo, Sacha Guitry via the ferocious humor of Roland Dubillard, Raymond Devos, Alphonse Allais and many others. A free journey to which the actor invites the spectators, with no other guide than the pleasure of interpreting texts that are deep or light, serious or comical, from opposite periods and styles, in prose, free verse or rhyme.

Thierry Lhermitte will be on stage on August 11 with a single on stage inspired by the book in which Simon Wiesenthal recounts how he was confronted in June 1942 with a dying Nazi seeking forgiveness.

On August 13, Isabelle Adjani will close the Festival with The Vertigo Marilyna monologue in the form of a tribute to the star who died 60 years ago, in August 1962. The show mixes statements from Marilyn during her last interview, two days before her death, and Isabelle Adjani’s own confessions.

Every summer since 2001, the Lacoste Festival created by fashion designer Pierre Cardin, dedicated to theatre, song, opera and musical cinema, welcomes more than 15,000 spectators in the Lubéron.

The performances take place in the old stone quarry of the castle acquired by the couturier, now deceased, at the end of the 1990s. At the opening, the festival will offer an anthology of musicals brought to the big screen: Mamma Mia, hairspray, The Phantom of the Opera, flash dance.
