The world’s largest rocket, Starship, exploded shortly after takeoff in Texas on April 20. A launch and an explosion that raise questions, especially for the future projects of Elon Musk’s Space X company.

It was perhaps one of the most anticipated takeoffs. That of the largest rocket in the world, Starship. If the launch looks like a success at first, after three minutes the two stages that were supposed to detach do not separate as expected and the rocket explodes. But there is no question of speaking of failure. To hear the employees of Space X, it would almost be a success. Elon Musk even says he is excited about the upcoming launches.

No ejection system in case of problem

However, the largest rocket in the world, supposed to take men around the Earth and to the Moon raises questions, especially in terms of security. The capsule which must transport inhabitants does not currently have an ejection system in the event of a problem. But experts point out that this is only the first test. “It’s like when you develop software, you create it, you see what’s wrong, you change it, you make improvements quickly on your product”explains Jonathan McDowell, astrophysicist.
