Friday May 6, while the Covid-19 epidemic seems to be receding, some wonder why wearing a mask is still compulsory in transport.
As of Friday, May 6, wearing a mask is still compulsory on public transport. For some, it prevents particles from dissipating and is helpful in protecting others. For others, it is useless, given that it is not mandatory everywhere. “I was in London, they no longer have it in the subways. It’s true that we wonder why we keep it,” argues a woman.
In France, the mask is compulsory in transport, in hospitals, health centers, pharmacies and laboratories. “In the car of a bus, a metro, we will find ourselves in an atmosphere which, quickly, will be confined”, explains Benjamin Davido, infectious disease specialist at the Raymond-Poincaré hospital in Garches (Haut-de-Seine ), which considers this mask still necessary. The president of the scientific council, Jean-François Delfraissy, foresees, for his part, an end to the mask in June or July.
