Is female rivalry a myth?

While the #MeToo movement has brought out women’s voices on the violence against them, we have the feeling that a spirit of solidarity prevails more readily between women today: the hour of sisterhood has come. But, it is clear that in the office but also in private life, women are not always kind to each other.

Rivalry and jealousy still seem to rule relationships between womenwhether it’s a particularly authoritarian manager, a mother jealous of her daughter, two friends who constantly compare each other…

Between sorority and rivalry, what about the relationships between women? Is rivalry a myth built by a culture long dominated by men or a reality that must be understood in order to overcome it?
