Is Bakhmout in Russian hands?

The paramilitary Wagner militia waving Russian flags in the Ukrainian city of Bakhmout and thus demanding the total capture of the city. Evguéni Prigojine, the head of the militia, affirms it, even though we still hear the sounds of bombs in the city. Russian state television also proclaims the fall of Bakhmout, where entire neighborhoods are razed and the streets are empty.

The Ukrainian authorities claim to have launched a partial encirclement of the city of Bakhmout. Some soldiers, on rest, even prepare weapons from their homes. On the side of the inhabitants of towns close to Bakhmout, the story is not the same and serenity is not in order. The communication war continues between the two warring countries.

“None of these soldiers expresses, in front of our camera, the slightest doubt that one day Bakhmout will be fully taken over by the Ukrainians”says journalist Maryse Burgot, special correspondent in the Donbass.
