It’s a disaster that will never really get out of their minds. On the night of Sunday November 6 to Monday November 7, 2022, Iris Mittenaere and her fiancé Diego El Glaoui experienced horror. While she had planned to spend a hot water bottle TV evening at the hotel with her darling, the beauty queen was confronted with a fire of dazzling power, as she explained, once rescued, on social networks. It was the building opposite the one where the couple lived that was hit.
The feeling that everything can change suddenly
In the middle of the night, Iris Mittenaere and Diego El Glaoui heard louder and louder noises. Opening the curtains, they saw smoke and flames. Chaos. “The racing heart and the feeling that everything could suddenly changewrites the young man on his Instagram account. All the images I share with you were filmed after bringing Iris to safety. We were out in 10 seconds after seeing the fire just putting on jeans and a t-shirt. We were even the first to come out into the street and set off the fire alarm to make sure all of our neighbors evacuated as well.“

And to think that a few hours from this devastation, Iris Mittenaere announced that she was not feeling well. It is the relief, now, for the review leader, 29, who is safe and sound … after having feared the worst, especially for her future husband. After putting his sweetheart away from the building, Diego El Glaoui actually returned to the room they were renting. “I went back up to the apartment (without taking the elevator of course) to collect our passports, after realizing that our building was not affected by the firehe says. My fear was that the fire would spread to our building with all these flaming pieces falling on our terrace, which could easily start a fire on the outdoor furniture.” More fear than harm, of course, but the images are still looping through their heads…
