The trailer for the new film directed by Louise Archambault is revealed this Thursday. After The time of a summerthe Quebec filmmaker offers a completely different universe to moviegoers with Irena’s Promise (Irena’s Vow, in original version), from the screenplay by Dan Gordon.
The feature film, which stars Sophie Nélisse, is based on the true story of Polish nurse Irena Gut Opdyk, who saved the lives of 12 Jewish people during World War II by hiding them in the home of a German officer.
Pianist Alexandra Stréliski wrote the original music for this film, which won last fall at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Irena’s Promise will be released in Quebec on April 19.
