On Saturday February 13, Iranian Revolutionary Guards intercepted a container ship linked to the Jewish state. The Israeli army announced that it stood ready to act.

The images were posted on social networks. From a helicopter, several Iranian Revolutionary Guards rappel onto a container ship. On board, 25 crew members. Iran’s official news agency specifies that this ship was heading towards the country’s territorial waters, near the Strait of Hormuz. The ship is linked to Israel, they say. The Jewish state reacted immediately. “Iran will suffer the consequences of its choice to aggravate the situation. We have strengthened our capacity to protect Israel against any further Iranian aggression”declared Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israeli army.

Joe Biden sends troops

The escalation of tensions therefore continues between the two countries. Since April 1 and the strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria, attributed to Israel, Tehran has promised a response. The US president expects Iran to take action soon and warns: “Don’t do it. We are dedicated to the defense of Israel and Iran will not succeed.” The United States has already announced sending additional troops and assets to the region.
