Eight years of research compiled into a synthesis. The group of climate experts is due to unveil a new report on Monday. It calls into question the human being and tries to think about adaptability in the face of rising temperatures.

Our planet has never been so hot for 125,000 years. Between the end of the 19th century and today, it warmed up by 1.1°C and the bar of 1.5°C should be reached within fifteen years. The IPCC experts point out that the only responsible is the human being. They publish the synthesis of eight years of scientific research, Monday, March 20. Experts estimate that between 3.3 and 3.6 billion people live in a very vulnerable environment, that is to say where heat waves and exceptional droughts have become recurrent.

Areas that would become uninhabitable

“There is something that is being increasingly highlighted, these are the areas that would become uninhabitable, because the temperature and humidity conditions are such that there can no longer be physical activity of normal way”underlines Jean Jouzel, paleoclimatologist.

Another key concept in this report is the adaptability of human beings to the new climatic situation. It must go hand in hand with the attenuation of global warming if man is to continue to live properly.
