The energy performance diagnosis is mandatory when selling a property. The association 60 million consumers denounces an unreliable ranking, all the more problematic as the criteria will be tightened in September.

At the start of 2021, a woman met by a France Télévisons team took steps to sell her three-room apartment, located in Seine-Saint-Denis. It then carried out an energy performance diagnosis (DPE), which is mandatory. Its housing, old, was classified F, and considered as an energy sieve. However, she was worried about the note, because her neighbors, located in the same residence, had not obtained the same.

She then asked another company to carry out an expertise, which awarded a better score to the accommodation. Diagnoses not always very reliable, this is what points, Tuesday, May 24, 60 million consumers. The association chose four houses to carry out its investigation and involved five diagnosticians in each of them. Their conclusions turned out to be very different. Fanny Guibert, journalist and head of the energy section at 60 million consumers, points out a “lack of vigilance and requirement” in some diagnosticians.
