A sexton was jostled on Friday April 8 in the morning by a “imbalance” at Saint-Étienne Cathedral in Toulouse, in the South West of France, according to a police source at franceinfo. This source assures that there were no injuries.

The man fled after leaving a package, the nature of which is undetermined at this stage. As a precaution, the cathedral was evacuated. A security perimeter was established by the security forces and a team of deminers was dispatched to the scene.

“Thanks to the rapid intervention of the demining services, the police operation is over in Toulouse”announced on Twitter the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin who confirms that there is no “no victims“. Earlier, he had asked Toulouse to“avoid the area”.
