(Quebec) The service of three ferries will be interrupted over the next few days due to a strike, the Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) announced on Thursday.
According to the state-owned company, non-patented employees affiliated with the CSN will start strikes that will affect the Quebec – Lévis, Sorel-Tracy – Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola and Matane – Baie-Comeau – Godbout crossings.
This group of employees includes ratings, watchmen, maintenance attendants, boarding attendants, maintenance attendants and engine room ratings.
As for the Sorel-Tracy – Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola crossing, the last crossing will be on Monday 1er November at 6 a.m. from Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola and service will resume on November 5 at 7:30 p.m. from Sorel-Tracy, the STQ said in a press release.
In the case of the Matane – Baie-Comeau – Godbout crossing, the last crossing will take place on 1er November at 5 p.m. from Baie-Comeau. The service will resume on November 6 at 8 a.m. from Matane.
Finally, the strike affecting the Quebec – Lévis link will take place from November 3 to 7. The last crossing will be Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. from Quebec City, and regular service will resume as of November 7, at 6:30 a.m., with a crossing also from Quebec.
