Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga suffers from a ruptured external lateral ligament in his right knee after his injury during training with the France team, his club Real Madrid announced on Friday, November 17.
The 21-year-old was injured on Wednesday during training with the France team before joining Madrid and taking exams there. He was replaced with the Blues by Nice’s Khéphren Thuram for the two matches counting for Euro 2024 qualifying against Gibraltar (Saturday) and Greece (Tuesday).
The duration of his unavailability was not immediately provided by the Spanish club. Of the thirteen matches played in La Liga since the start of the season, the Frenchman had started 11 times, and in the Merengues’ first four matches in the Champions League. It’s a setback for him, eight months before Euro 2024 in Germany.
