The UN demands access to an Israeli port. Three United Nations agencies have asked Israel to allow access to its port of Ashdod to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, where Palestinians suffer significant food insecurity. Access to this port located approximately 40 km north of the Gaza Strip “would allow much larger amounts of aid to be delivered and then trucked directly to the northern areas of Gaza”.
