Insurers have already paid at the end of December “more than 60 million euros” to the victims of the November floods in Hauts-de-France, France Assureurs announced on Monday January 8. That represented “on average a deposit of 2,600 euros per insured person affected”specifies the federation.

She also confirmed that households affected again in January would not have to pay the deductible twice. The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, had already made the promise.

After the floods of November, which affected several hundred municipalities in the region, “98% of expert missions were carried out at the end of December 2023”, detailed the organization. At the end of November, the Central Reinsurance Fund estimated the cost of floods covered under the natural disaster regime in Hauts-de-France at 550 million euros, at least half of which was covered by it. For his part, Bruno Le Maire declared on Sunday that “50% of November victims were compensated”.
