Louisette, you have had a wonderful career. In cinema, on television, in the theatre. You have inspired me so much in the theater. You were part of the wonderful Theater of the same name. You participated in several memorable André Brassard shows.
I remember… your comic play of the Spartan in Lysistrate by Aristophanes, a powerful adaptation by Michel Tremblay, directed by André Brassard. Your masterful interpretation of The Raising of Lazarus In Mistero Buffo by Dario Fo, another staging by the great André Brassard.
I remember… Chénier’s children in their last farewell show. And of all the other creative shows that you gave birth to with your colleagues from the Theater of the Same Name, Jean-Claude Germain, Gilles Renaud, Nicole Leblanc, Jean-Luc Bastien, Odette Gagnon, Monique Rioux and Sauvageau… With the Grand Cirque Ordinarily, you, your group and you, from the Theater of the Same Name, were in the process of revolutionizing Quebec theater. You were my idols. My models. I wanted to do theater like you.
I have always closely followed your theatrical career. I remember… your impressive performance in The fairies are thirsty by Denise Boucher. From Madam in From Alaska by Sébastien Harisson… And above all, I remember… mom. What a great work! Your work! An exceptional synthesis of your creativity.
Louisette, I’m lucky to have known you. For having worked with you at the Vidéographe, in Norman Thibault’s social films. I have always admired your involvement in associations, communities and politics. At the Conseil québécois du théâtre, you will have been an exceptional president, very rigorous. I’m lucky to have had you as a friend. I really liked the very simple relationship you had with the public, you, a very well-known personality. I think of you very strongly. You are here. In the right place in my heart.
