According to a document obtained by the franceinfo political service, the boss of the LFI deputies reported to the courts the comments made by Enrico Macias on CNews on Tuesday October 10 about the Hamas offensive in Israel. Mathilde Panot wrote to the Paris public prosecutor on Wednesday.

On the basis of article 40 of the code of criminal procedure, the rebellious elected official from Val-de-Marne recalls the singer’s statements in the program “L’heure des Pro 2” hosted by Pascal Praud. “When I hear the extreme left giving up in the face of this horror, you force me to say what I didn’t want to say: we must destroy them […] Of course, politically, but maybe even physically”, the artist then explained. Words that “appear to constitute an offense of provocation without effect” according to Mathilde Panot.

Enrico Macias also described “accomplices” of Hamas rebellious elected officials due to their refusal to qualify the Islamist organization as “terrorist”. An accusation synonymous with public defamation for the leader of LFI in the National Assembly.

Death threats received by LFI parliamentarians

Mathilde Panot also reported two other statements to the prosecution. One is signed Julien Bahloul, Franco-Israeli journalist: “I wish Mathilde Panot to find herself in the hands of Hamas”. The second statement comes from the ranks of the RN. MP Julien Odoul was at the rally organized by Crif on Monday October 9 in Paris when he responded to a person wishing “eradicate Gaza, but also La France insoumise”, “This is what we are going to do tomorrow in the Assembly”the far-right elected official then assured him.

Mathilde Panot also recalls that these words are part of a context “constant threats to La France insoumise”. Several members of his parliamentary group have in fact received death threats.
