Rehearsals for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which were to take place on Monday, were canceled due to the excessive flow of the Seine. A France Télévisions team was, however, able to board one of the boats which will transport the athletes.

Only ten people know the full program for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which will take place on July 26 in Paris. France Télévisions journalists, however, reveal some indiscretions: it will include all the most beautiful monuments in Paris, notably Notre-Dame and the Louvre. 12 different scenes are on the program, with dancers. A thousand dancers, artists and extras will participate in the ceremony. “We wanted to bring together break with contemporary dance, classical dance, but also any form of so-called urban dance”explains Maud Le Pladec, director of Dance for the Paris 2024 ceremonies.

They will perform on the bridges, barges and perhaps the rooftops of Paris. Everyone signed a confidentiality contract. Will artists Aya Nakaruma, Cerrone or Céline Dion perform during the festivities? The France Télévisons teams are unable to confirm the names. The costumes, on the other hand, are ready. Finally, the ceremony, which will be filmed live, will include some pre-recorded sequences.
