Finally some good news for Angers. The red lantern of the last Ligue 1 championship learned on Friday June 16 that it could recruit during the summer transfer window which opened on June 10. Initially banned from recruitment for the next two transfer windows by Fifa, the SCO benefits from a decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which finally considered the appeal of its sanction as suspensive.

“Angers SCO today took note with satisfaction of the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport having accepted to grant its request for suspension of the ban on recruitment pronounced by Fifa pending the final decision of the CAS , the club said in a statement. Therefore, the ban on the Club and preventing the recruitment of new players is lifted”, the club said in a statement.

Positive news for the Angevins who will return to Ligue 2 in early August, eight years after their accession to the top flight.
